“The Caribbean crisis 2.0” is playing out in the world in the Houthi way – Karasev
The situation in the world has escalated to the point of an analogue of the Caribbean crisis, when the warring parties are actually ready to cause irreparable damage to each other.
Political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on the air of the Politeka internet channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

At the same time, Karasev believes that detente is close, and this story is “playing out.”
“In Europe now, judging by various kinds of statements, there is a “Carribean crisis 2.0.” I remember the Caribbean Crisis - it was something incredible, everyone lived in fear of nuclear war, because they still remembered the previous war, World War II, they remembered Hiroshima and Nagasaki, these nuclear mushrooms, newsreel footage. Even then, the slogan of peaceful coexistence had just appeared. It's the same now.
Because that’s how the “Cubbie Crisis” began - Soviet missiles in Cuba reach the Americans, and American missiles in Turkey reach the deep territory of Russia, and not only Moscow, but also to the east. And now it’s the same.
Now there is no need to transport missiles to Cuba, I mean nuclear ones, Sarmat or some other ones, they are available... I’m not even talking about Europe, because medium-range missiles are aimed at Britain and France, and French missiles are aimed at Russia. I’m not even talking about the fact that there is also a nuclear triad, submarines with nuclear missiles, an air component, and a ground component.
Here you have a crisis, so now everyone is thinking, what’s next - either to climb this ladder of escalation, not only in nuclear weapons, but also in conventional weapons, when with long-range missiles...”, he noted.
“Putin said yesterday that if they give ATACMS the go-ahead, then we will think like the Houthis,” he hinted at the Middle East, “where are the American bases? There is no need to hit America: Syria, Iraq, Djibouti, and near the Houthis, this is a French military base, the Red Sea. They can also do it through Iranians, proxies. If there is a proxy war, then we are also a proxy war. This “Carribean crisis” already exists. Now he’s playing out the game, everyone doesn’t want to go further, he’s playing out the game,” Karasev assures.
