Mariupol - Kharkov, May 07 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) - DPR “Minister of Defense” Igor Kakidzyanov was detained in Mariupol, says Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov.

“Today, as a result of the operation, the situation in Mariupol has been brought under control. At the same time, the arrest of the so-called “Minister of Defense” of the “Donetsk Republic”, Igor Kakidzyanov, was carried out, who was detained for attempted murder and for committing a number of crimes,” Avakov said during a meeting in Kharkov.
According to Ukrainian law enforcement officers, Kakidzyanov was detained during the storming of a police bus with members of the Azov special forces battalion near the village of Mangush. During the shelling, the driver of the minibus was wounded, and one of the shooters was killed by return fire.
“There was a real fight that lasted more than an hour. They fired at the security forces with machine guns and Kalashnikov assault rifles. The bus driver is injured. He was hit three times. Two bullets got stuck in the bulletproof vest, one hit the hand,” the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs quotes Anton Gerashchenko, adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
As Navigator reported, Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleg Lyashko stated on his Facebook page that he had already “interrogated” Kakidzyanov and posted a photo.
