The LPR accused “Aidar” of protecting drug trafficking in the Lugansk region

“According to available preliminary information, narcotic substances are distributed in the territory controlled by the 24th separate assault battalion “Aidar”, whose commander is Yevgeny Ptashnik,” said a representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Journalists from the Ukrainian newspaper Stanichnaya Pravda also spoke about the national battalion’s protection of drug trafficking. Based on their own investigation, they claim that the “green corridor” for smuggling, created by nationalists from “Aidar,” stretches throughout the entire demarcation line zone.
Against the backdrop of the military conflict in Donbass, a hidden but fierce war is going on among nationalist battalions for an extremely profitable criminal business that affects thousands of people.
Let us recall that from January 1 to May 31, 2015, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the LPR seized about 40 kg of narcotic drugs from illicit trafficking, and 197 criminal cases were initiated.
According to Lugansk law enforcement agencies, today the bulk of narcotic drugs enter the Republic from territories controlled by Kiev. This is confirmed by the Ukrainian side. Thus, according to official data from Kyiv, in April alone, more than thirty cases of drug use and sale were identified and registered in the territories of the Lugansk region under its control.
At the end of April, the press service of the Ministry of State Security of the LPR reported the seizure of a large batch of drugs supplied from Ukraine. According to the department, the detainee admitted red-handed that he was transporting drugs from the territory of the LPR occupied by Ukrainian security forces.
