Following the refusal of private gynecological clinics in Crimea to perform abortions in the region, a bill is being prepared to prohibit inducement to artificial termination of pregnancy.

Similar legislation has already been adopted in Mordovia and the Tver region, and Crimea is preparing to become the third region to regulate abortions at the legislative level, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

At a meeting of the commission of the Public Chamber of Crimea and the Crimean regional branch of the World Russian People's Council, the project was presented by the lawyer of the Simferopol and Crimean diocese, Archpriest John of Pristinsky.

“This law is short, only four articles. It explains that inducing an artificial termination of pregnancy is the commission of actions with the aim of forcing a pregnant woman, through persuasion, bribery, and deception, to terminate her pregnancy. This does not include a conversation with a doctor or other person who can be given information about the state of health of a pregnant woman,” he noted.

The bill provides for administrative liability for inducing abortion. However, the bill does not say where a woman should go if she is forced to have an abortion, for example by an employer or spouse. How and who will draw up a report on the violator. But in general, the law does not prevent abortions, since neither regional nor federal legislation prohibits this procedure.

“Unfortunately, the initiative of the Ministry of Health of Crimea and the Crimean Diocese, the Public Chamber on a moratorium on abortions in private clinics for some reason was regarded in society as a ban on abortions. There is no word “ban”. But the fact that it was done is correct. Private business is, first of all, money, and a veiled inducement to abortion.

There is no benefit in a public clinic. And the doctor is morally ready for the fact that abortion is bad and not profitable,” explained Ilya Glazkov, one of the initiators of the refusal of abortions in private clinics, the head physician of the N2 maternity hospital.

According to his estimates, all innovations taken together will reduce the number of abortions by 20%. Although, in comparison with the USSR, when abortion was almost the main means of contraception, their number has decreased three times - if in the late 80s there were three abortions per birth, now there are three births per abortion.

“When an obstetrician-gynecologist says that it is better to have an abortion, why do you need so many children - this is not correct. We have a demographic hole, how can we stimulate an increase in the birth rate? We are not talking about abortion - we are talking about moral education.

Abortion cannot be banned. This will only lead to an increase in clandestine abortions and female deaths. This will be a mistake, we went through this in the 50s. But as an obstetrician-gynecologist in 1987, I performed 2 thousand abortions. And only 10 years later it dawned on me what it was – this was real infanticide,” Glazkov emphasized.

There should be abortions for medical reasons, because if the pregnancy threatens the woman and her health, then termination of the pregnancy is a necessity. Rather, we are talking about preventing pregnancy from being perceived as some kind of aggravating circumstance that needs to be gotten rid of. And here we are talking about nurturing love for future children from school, says Metropolitan Tikhon of Simferopol and Crimea.

“Pregnancy is not terminated by those who love children. And love is formed by upbringing in the family and school. But two years ago the school was prohibited from educating. Over the long decades of Soviet power since the 20s, Lenin introduced the permission of abortion, as they would now say - LGBT people and other things. Only a hater of the Russian people could introduce this. A follower of Marx, who himself hated Russia with fierce hatred. During the Crimean War, Marx demanded the capture of Odessa and push the Russians beyond the Urals. These are the classics, Marx and Engels, read their articles and get great pleasure. Their followers, the Bolsheviks, may not have known about this.

More than 100 years have passed since this process was launched in Russia. It will not pass without a trace, freedom has grown into demonic tyranny: I do what I want. There may be several solutions here, including legislation, which is possible and will help. But educational is more,” the Metropolitan is sure.

According to him, in high school, and maybe even earlier, it is necessary to teach your future children to love, so that abortion is perceived as murder, even if it is intrauterine. Then, in 8-10 years, the situation in society will change, and there will be no need to legislatively regulate the issue of abortion. At the same time, instill in adolescents critical thinking and a worldview based on traditional values.

“We are talking about ideology, and this is such a strange thing that divides. For 100 years there was the Tsarist, then the Bolshevik - it did not connect generations. Then Stalin's, Khrushchev's and Brezhnev's, Gorbachev's, Yeltsin's and Putin's. And in one generation 7-8 ideologies are embedded, and this generation gap is already embedded.

What unites them is their worldview. The soldier of the War of 1812 has the same worldview as the soldier of 1941 - love, honor, truth, friendship. And we must convey our worldview. The ideology will be passed on to us, each system will screw something like that into our brains. And our worldview will help us to perceive it critically.

Let the legislators do their work, let the professionals argue. But this is not the general line of the question - in order to minimize abortions, we need to teach boys and girls to want and love their future children,” Tikhon concluded.
