Children who came under fire in the suburbs of Kherson were evacuated to Crimea. The family tried to leave the city by car - a mother and three children. The woman died.
A five-year-old ran away, a nine-year-old boy was seriously injured, and their older 17-year-old brother was okay.
“The Russian military came to the aid of the children,” the Ministry of Information of Crimea reported. “Two children were immediately taken to the Crimean hospital. The youngest child was found a day later as a result of a search and rescue operation by the Russian military and taken to the peninsula.”
A nine-year-old child suffered a gunshot wound. Doctors from the Republican Children's Clinical Hospital are fighting for his life. The boy is in intensive care.
“At the moment the child’s condition is serious but stable. One bullet is still deep in the liver. There is no bleeding, doctors do not risk operating yet,” said the head physician of the hospital, Anatoly Oleynik.
The father of the family is Turkish by nationality, and the Turkish diaspora takes part in the fate of the children. Foreign Ministry employees have already contacted the relatives.
