In Kyiv they are no longer shy: Crimea will be Ukrainian or waterless
Kiev's consideration of the issue of resuming water supply to Crimea until the peninsula returns to Ukraine would actually mean Kiev's recognition of Russian jurisdiction on the peninsula.
Political strategist Viktor Ukolov, who wrote speeches for former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, announced this on the air of the Pryamyi television channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I think no one will argue that Crimea was actually stolen from Ukraine. Annexing and assigning it to another country is theft. Just imagine this analogy: your car was stolen, and five years later the villains called and said: “Let’s give us more gasoline, because we don’t have enough of it, the car won’t drive without gasoline.”
It seems to me that such a formulation of the question as water to Crimea in exchange for something is unacceptable, because it opens up trades. That is, with whom will such an agreement be signed? From the Russian Federation? Or with the occupation administration in Crimea? It doesn’t matter, but in this way Ukraine recognizes Russian jurisdiction in Crimea, and this is the problem,” the expert was indignant.
According to the odious political strategist, if Ukraine continues its “water” blackmail, it will sooner or later return Crimea.
“When the occupiers captured Crimea, they knew that such a problem would arise, they were warned about it. And the fact that Crimea lacks Ukrainian water is a completely predictable consequence of the problem that occurred.
For me personally, the only good thing is that Poroshenko’s policy is confirmed, his strategy, that sooner or later Ukraine will be able to raise the question of the return of Crimea even in this way: “If you want Crimea to have water, it must be Ukrainian.” Crimea must be either Ukrainian or waterless, otherwise it cannot happen,” Ukolov concluded.
