In Kyiv, radicals besieged the District Administrative Court
Two dozen so-called activists are picketing the Kyiv District Administrative Court, which is considering a lawsuit filed by Inter TV channel editor-in-chief Igor Shuvalov to overturn the ban on his entry into Ukraine, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The action was organized by the organization “Free People,” whose members several times demanded that Igor Shuvalov be deported from Ukraine in 2016.
“Shuvalov is a citizen of Russia. He worked in Ukraine for Viktor Medvedchuk, then for Sergei Levochkin and Dmitry Firtash, owners of the Inter TV channel. Shuvalov is Yanukovych’s chief political strategist. This is the person who created the temniks and formed the pro-Russian agenda in the information simple during the reign of the criminal regime,” states the organization’s Facebook page.
Activists picketing the court are chanting “Inter” - to the cemetery!”, “Shuvalov – behind bars!” and holding a banner with the words “Inter” - to the cemetery!”, as well as a poster with photographs of Ukrainian businessmen, whom activists consider pro-Russian.
On May 22, 2017, Igor Shuvalov was expelled from the country and banned from entering for five years. In the spring of 2018, he filed a lawsuit against the State Migration Service of Ukraine, in which he asks to cancel the decision to ban him from entering Ukraine. Proceedings on the claim were opened by the District Administrative Court of Kyiv in early May
