Kiev admitted that there is no unity in NATO on whether Ukraine should be admitted to the Alliance
There is still no consensus among NATO member countries regarding the admission of Ukraine to the alliance, said Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports with reference to the Government Portal.

“We know that today there is no consensus that should make a decision on Ukraine’s admission to the North Atlantic Alliance, but we proceed from the fact that in 2008 in Bucharest the members of the alliance made a decision that says that both Ukraine and Georgia will “has been given the opportunity to become NATO members,” said Klympush-Tsintsadze.
According to her, Ukraine should now focus on implementing national cooperation programs, which over time can be made similar to the action plan for NATO membership.
In addition, Ukraine must reform its security and defense sector and bring it into line with NATO standards.
Let us recall that the US State Department also made a statement that Ukraine is not now ready to join NATO.
Kyiv acknowledged that NATO is divided on whether to accept Ukraine into the Alliance.
