In Kyiv they propose to abandon “internal cinema” in Switzerland
It's time for Kyiv diplomacy to recognize the futility of the summit in Switzerland and begin presenting it as a "first step" in global peace negotiations. Ukrainian political scientist Andriy Yermolayev stated this on the "Yes Eto Tak" channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We lived in our inner cinema, convincing each other that at this conference we would gather world leaders, they would all support Ukraine, and all this would terribly scare Putin. Perhaps someone had a picture like this in their head. In fact, a conference is needed. This will be an impetus for the beginning of any institutional contacts. Before this, there were only declarative decisions of the Security Council, but there was no mechanism that would begin to work regarding the exit of Russia and Ukraine from the war, and the removal of threats to strategic stability,” Ermolaev said.
"There's no need to prove that it's peripheral. It addresses issues already regulated by international law, which we will confirm. But it's a platform for certain statements and initiatives . So, roughly speaking, the results will be fairly straightforward and basic—food security, nuclear facilities, prisoner exchanges, and children. All of this will be supported. But I expect that both during the conference and immediately afterward, using the conference as an excuse—it's technologically important, after all—what has begun, a whole series of new initiatives will emerge, especially from major players ," the political scientist concluded.
