Kyiv is unhappy: Western anti-Russian sanctions do not work
American and Western sanctions have no impact on Russia. Her companies operate successfully abroad, citizens travel abroad, and Moscow lives in luxury.
Ukrainian lawyer Stanislav Kutsenko stated this on the air of the Pryamoy TV channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
He criticized the recent interview of US Chargé d'Affaires in Ukraine William Taylor to European Pravda, where he said that sanctions are affecting on Russia and in Putin’s “close circle” they are looking for opportunities to weaken them.
“The question about sanctions - I agree that they need to be extended, but what William Taylor says is that they are sufficient - where do we see that they are sufficient? Is there any effect? Is Nord Stream being built? Under construction. Is Germany facilitating this with the tacit consent of Merkel? It helps, of course.
Gazprom and other companies of the Russian Federation are finding ways to circumvent these sanctions in different ways, and the oligarchs both earned and continue to earn, Russians both went on vacation and still go, luxury in Moscow. We have not seen any changes and we do not see that sanctions are working. Therefore, what the US Chargé d’Affaires in Ukraine says is absolutely untrue,” Kutsenko said.
