The collapse of the canonical UOC is announced in Kyiv
In Ukraine, they foretell the rapid collapse of the canonical UOC after the creation of the so-called “United Local Church” and the transfer of 70 of the 90 major church hierarchs to it.
Religious scholar Yuriy Chernomorets stated this on air on the Pryamyi television channel, which is controlled by the Ukrainian presidential administration, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the expert, problems await the SLC in several regions of Ukraine.
“About 20 people will never join this United Local Church, all the rest are open to dialogue and, in fact, if a young, constructive primate is elected, this could be a very quick process. Just as you remember, the Communist Party collapsed. The Moscow Patriarchate in Ukraine may also collapse and people may flee to a new church... About eight of them are ruling bishops in the diocese, 12 are vicars. That is, we will have some problems somewhere in eight regions,” Chernomorets said.
