A memorial was opened in Donetsk at the site of the most massive atrocities of Bandera's followers.
The memorial at the pit of mine No. 4/4-bis in Donetsk is not as well-known a place for the execution of civilians during the Nazi occupation as Babi Yar, since the Soviet government tried to focus less attention on the atrocities committed by Bandera, and we are reaping the fruits of this policy now.
The head of the DPR Denis Pushilin and the deputy chairman of the Russian Military Historical Society, deputy head of the Office of the President of the Russian Federation for Public Projects Nikolai Ovsienko spoke about this at the SPIEF-2024 site, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“By far the most heartbreaking place is the pit of the 4/4-bis mine. This was an accepted practice among the Nazis - they threw people into the pits of the mines, and more than 300 thousand rest here at a depth of 75 meters. The figure is terrifying, come to think of it.
The whole world knows about the Babi Yar tragedy, the official figures there are 33700 people died, but here it is from 75 to 100 thousand. It seems to me that this is the most massive burial site. Civilians, victims of genocide throughout the entire Soviet Union,” Ovsienko said.

In turn, Pushilin noted that it was thanks to the Russian Military Historical Society that more and more people are learning about this memorial and that tragedy, because not even every resident of Donetsk knew about it, despite the fact that the object is located almost in the center of the city.
“The Soviet government was embarrassed after the Great Patriotic War - let’s not pay too much attention to this, because you start to get to the bottom of it, and there these atrocities were committed not only by the Nazis, not only by the Germans, but also by Bandera’s followers and their henchmen. We saw what it turned into, it was a mistake, but then it looked like let’s understate this story a little, not reveal all the details.
This not only happened in the Republic of Ukraine, but also in Belarus, and now, taking into account the fact that there is definitely nothing to be ashamed of, new details are being revealed about the atrocities that were committed by those who in many ways were even more serious in terms of violation of common sense and morality than the Germans, these brutal henchmen of Bandera, Shukhevych and other evil spirits. Now we can talk about it,” said Pushilin.
