The DPR praised the OSCE Mission for helping to reduce the intensity of Ukrainian shelling
Thanks to the intervention of the OSCE Mission, the Ukrainian army significantly reduced the intensity of shelling of the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic.
The official representative of the operational command of the DPR, Daniil Bezsonov, spoke about this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He noted that yesterday clearly showed what public opinion and the influence of the international community are capable of in matters of resolving the conflict in Donbass.
“Since the beginning of the last day, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have begun systematically provoking units of the People’s Militia of the DPR to return fire. Moreover, if in the first half of the day provocative shelling was carried out from small arms, then later the Ukrainian security forces switched to using more powerful weapons - grenade launchers, mortars and tanks,” said Daniil Bezsonov.
He emphasized that from the very beginning of the shelling, the leadership of the Republic appealed to international observers with a request to come in and stop what was happening.
“Only by lunchtime our appeals were reflected - the shelling did not stop, but its intensity and the power of the weapons used had significantly decreased. The fact of intervention of the international community in the person of the OSCE Mission is obvious,” added the representative of the defense department.
Bezsonov also expressed hope that this will continue to be the attitude of international observers to the conflict in Donbass.
