The incident occurred after ATO militants demanded that the participants in the column going to the Memorial of Glory remove flags with communist symbols.

An eyewitness to what was happening, Tim Zheldak, claims on his Facebook page that more than 20 nationalists were injured.

“At this moment we have at least twenty active (not disguised) ATO veterans, beaten by the batons of repainted Golden Eagles. Two people in critical condition were evacuated by ambulance. This is only in the Dnieper. PS. The data has been updated: 21 sought medical help. 11 have serious damage, the rest were treated with bandages
“We couldn’t do without a “third force” – unknown people with orange marks on their clothes, who attacked ATO officers during the confrontation and disappeared behind the police cordon,” writes Zholdak.
