“Fierce, high-intensity fighting continues in the area of the airport. Fighting is taking place on the territory of the airport and in the nearby greenery, artillery duels do not stop,” the militia claim.
The Donetsk mayor's office press service stated that the situation in Donetsk is extremely tense as of 6:30 p.m. Cannon fire and explosions have continued throughout the day.
In particular, the Kiev and Kuibyshev districts were once again subjected to shelling. There are reports of shell hits at the following addresses: st. Domostroitelnaya 1 and Novorossiyskaya street 1a. In addition, an unexploded shell is located near a multi-storey building No. 39 on Kremlevsky Avenue. “At the moment, the Ministry of Emergency Situations cannot go to the indicated addresses due to the ongoing military operations. According to unconfirmed reports, one civilian was killed as a result of shelling in the Kiev region. The information is being clarified,” the City Council said.
In turn, the ATO headquarters said that pro-Russian rebels attacked the Donetsk airport twice on Friday: fighting also took place in the village of Peski, not far from the airport.
