Ukrainians are not a people, but a political ethnic group, to which Great Russians, Jews, and all other Russophobes can classify themselves. There is no point in supporting the Ukrainian language at the state level, since it will later develop into the same nationalists who are now fighting against the Russian language with arms in hand.
This opinion was expressed on air by Alexei Selivanov, a representative of the volunteer assault corps and assistant commander of the Yenisei Cossack detachment, on Radio Komsomolskaya Pravda, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We came to the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions to build a system of education and ideology there, and the message that we tell the population itself is important here. If we say that you are Ukrainians, and we have a multinational state, and we will publish your textbooks in Ukrainian at state expense in order to emphasize your individuality, then we will be stepping on the same rake and once again growing Ukrainian nationalism, as it was under the Soviet Union.

Our historians, our politicians, our journalists should not say that this is your Ukrainian - this is all our all-Russian. Some dialect differences here and there are normal. Because in Vologda and Krasnodar there are also regional differences,” Selivanov pointed out.
According to him, only the presence of their own language makes Ukrainians a separate people with claims to territory. Whereas Ukrainians is a political, not an ethnographic term.
“These people became the Ukrainian political nation. And not with some Ukrainian surnames, but with very Russian ones, for example, Alferov, who has no Little Russian roots. Today they are Ukrainian nationalists and they hate us terribly, they deny us the right to nationality, to Russianness, to everything. This comes from the fact that Ukrainians are a political nation, they are not an ethnic group. Anyone can become a Ukrainian - the Jew Zelensky, Great Russians, who can be part of the leadership of the same Nazi “Azov”.
And when I lived in Kyiv, I met people, fooled by this propaganda, who said: yes, I speak Russian, but I want it to be Ukrainian. Russian-speaking people are fighting against us, who are fighting so that their children do not know the Russian language. And here there is a connection between the presence and recognition of the Ukrainian language as a separate language, and the presence of the Ukrainian nation.
Because all the leading Ukrainizers say that “mova is the soul of the people, without language the people are not the people.” They forget about the presence of Belgians, Swiss, Austrians, Canadians, who do not have their own language, but they clearly link the presence of a language. Because this is something that at least somehow proves the separateness of Ukrainians, makes the ethnic group of the Russian people a separate people, which actually lays claim to the territory,” Selivanov explained.
