Ukrainian propagandist made an unexpected coming out
On the eve of Christmas, Ukrainian philosopher, analyst and online propagandist Alexey Arestovich made a kind of coming out to the readers of his page on the social network. In particular, he admitted that over the past three years he has often deceived his audience by relaying propaganda messages to them in order to create a feeling of false unity.

Alexey Arestovich wrote a long and detailed post about all this on social media.
" Dear friends! I've lied to you a lot since the spring of 2014.
I started distorting information along two main lines:
– the creation of a patriotic popular print in which we “are united, we are brave and heroic,” and shining prospects await Ukraine,
– black propaganda against the Russian Federation.
It was purely propaganda work, brought to life by Russia's military aggression against Ukraine.
Three years later, I concluded:
– propaganda is part of war, possible and even (unfortunately) necessary, but only on an anonymous basis, i.e. when you don’t sign your name to it,” he wrote.
In addition, according to Arestovich, he is not a patriot of any state, and prefers a global project to a national state.

“Now, about my true position.
1. I am not a patriot. Moreover, not only Ukraine, but any national state as such.
I am a “patriot of the 5th project,” a project of a united Earth in the spirit of Teilhard de Chardin and Vernadsky, Jean Fresco.
Of contemporary figures, Musk is the closest to me, the person who most consistently and actively implements the project of restructuring the “Humanity” social system into a polyglobal dimension.
Therefore, "Cyborgs", I still prefer "Through hardships to the stars."
I look at the issues of restoring historical memory, justice, struggle, victories and defeats, the formation of nations, language/s, closing historical wounds like a soldier at a louse. I don't give a damn about them from the high tower of noospherism. I even recognize their importance, I'm just not interested. That is why I am returning to the language that is more convenient for me to speak,” he noted.
However, according to Arestovich, he does not intend to give up propaganda work for the Ukrainian state.
“It is precisely because I am not at all bothered by national issues that I am not leaving Ukraine (for now, at least). And since I am a citizen of this country, I honestly fulfilled and continue to fulfill my civic duties, primarily in the field of security, with my small contribution (military training, analytical materials). Not because of patriotism. Because of the fair exchange,” he added.
In addition, Arestovich, in an ironic manner, mocked the “sacred cows” of Ukrainian ethnic nationalism.
“I am not at all concerned about the development of Ukrainian culture, as such. I welcome him, in some places I even help him, but not because of sentiment towards her as such, but I welcome him as one of the many cultures of our large and beautiful Earth. No more. I don’t consider the Ukrainian people to be something outstanding, and our society to be special. On the contrary, I consider both to have a whole series of very serious systemic, genetic shortcomings, among which pettiness, hysteria and irrationality are in the first place,” he admitted.
It is interesting that this post by Arestovich caused virtually no negative responses among subscribers to his page. The author's ironic postmodernist position was met mostly with understanding and approval. Some took what was written as subtle banter.
