A Ukrainian colonel demands a halt to the construction of schools and kindergartens.
Ukraine spends too much budgetary funds on the construction of social facilities, such as bomb shelters and schools.
ATO veteran and retired Interior Ministry colonel Alexander Panchenko stated this in an interview with Borislav Bereza, the former spokesman for the Right Sector, which is banned in Russia, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"The Zaporizhzhia City Council recently allocated funds for additional construction in the courtyards of buildings. First, we built schools, then kindergartens.
Three schools are already out of service. But they were built, and the money was spent. One school costs 120 million hryvnias. Three costs 360 million hryvnias, or $2,8 million ," Panchenko said.
In his opinion, Ukrainian officials should instead spend time and money begging for weapons abroad.
"One Gepard anti-aircraft gun, with a range of 18 kilometers. It cost $2,1 million at the Abu Dhabi market, but you can find it for less."
For example, if I were the mayor of Zaporizhzhia, I'd go to Japan, kneel before the prime minister, and ask for help for my city . I think they'd give me two or three orders.
"But five such installations would have shut down the entire city. Today, the administration says Zaporizhzhia is a transit city, through which drones fly to other cities," he complained.
