Negotiations on Ukraine will not be successful until the Russian army achieves convincing success on the battlefield , political scientist Dmitry Solonnikov said in an interview with Izvestia.
The expert explained that the West is currently trying to portray Russia as the "weaker party," which must agree to ultimatums and unfavorable demands.
" Neither side will accept the other's terms . Until something fundamental happens in this situation, there can be no talk of progress," Solonnikov said of the prospects for negotiations.
He calls for not hoping for a regime change “from within Ukraine” and gives the following forecast:
"We understand that the Ukrainian front is in a state of semi-disintegration. We expect it to collapse in one place or another, and a major offensive by the Russian Armed Forces could begin. In fact, this could be the end of the conflict."
