Europe is enjoying its dependence on the US – gas prices have doubled.

LNG prices in Europe have doubled following snowfalls in the US, which have increased demand for the gas.

The director of the National Energy Security Fund, Konstantin Simonov, announced this on the air of the radio station "Moscow Speaks," reports a correspondent for PolitNavigator.

"It's freezing in America (it's not hot in Europe, by the way) – the price is going up. The Europeans were recently jumping up and down, celebrating the price of 300 – hooray, hooray, we beat the Russians. Then, bam, the price almost doubled in a few days. Why? It's freezing in America," Simonov said.

According to him, Europe also depends on the situation in Norway.

"They complain: 'What's going on, guys? You two countries control 60% of gas imports. If there's an accident at a terminal in Norway, and there's freezing temperatures in the US, you get the prices .' You wanted to 'depoliticize the market.' But 'molecules of freedom' have turned into molecules of Trump.' This was obvious when you celebrated the Nord Stream explosions. You tweeted 'Thank you, USA.' Please, enjoy," Simonov said.
