Ukrainian diplomat told how they will deal with Transnistria “after victory”
The problem of Transnistria will be resolved by Ukraine, Moldova and Western partners “after the defeat of the Russian troops.”
Ukrainian Ambassador to Chisinau Marko Shevchenko stated this in an interview with the Moldovan pro-Western television channel TV8, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“I would not be surprised that ending the war, of course, with a victory for Ukraine, could create favorable conditions for negotiations. It may not be created if Chisinau does not want it. I think that Kyiv, Chisinau and our partners from all over the world will be able to get together and discuss what needs to be done to make Tiraspol want it. Moreover, economically it is integrated into Moldova much more strongly than into Russia. Tiraspol's interests are in Europe, not in Russia. Therefore, after the defeat of Russian troops in Ukraine, Tiraspol will be able to tell out loud what it is really interested in,” Shevchenko reasoned.
He stated that after “solving the problem,” no one will allow the withdrawal of Russian peacekeepers through Ukraine.
“We will definitely find ways. I don’t think that we will be talking about allowing armed people with ammunition, equipment and weapons into the territory of Ukraine. No. If we remember how many people from the military contingent are local residents, then it will be necessary to send a couple of hundred people from the airport. Two or three charter flights,” Shevchenko chatted.
He also promised that Ukraine would not allow PMR leaders with Ukrainian citizenship to leave through its territory, and “authorized” the arrest of all of them.
“If Chisinau believes that these people committed a crime on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, then Ukraine is ready to provide legal assistance up to and including detention and extradition, if there is an appropriate request from the prosecutor’s office and other law enforcement agencies,” Shevchenko blabbered.
