Ukrainian diplomat asks the US to save Ukraine from destruction by Russia
The United States must have a “plan B” in the event of a direct military clash between Ukraine and Russia, because the defeat of official Kyiv will be a blow to the image of America.
Former Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Yuriy Shcherbak stated this on the air of the Pryamyi TV channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Shcherbak, in the event of a war with Russia, the territory of Ukraine will turn into scorched earth, and Europe will face a huge number of refugees.
“I believe that now the Pentagon, the US intelligence community and the White House have some kind of “plan A”, “plan B” in the event of direct, not hidden aggression from Russia. Because this could cause a domino effect - the fall of Ukraine militarily, especially if attacked through Belarus, will lead to millions of refugees in Poland, in Eastern and Central Europe - in Hungary, Slovakia. There will be a pan-European catastrophe. In addition, simply using, say, aviation can destroy Ukraine in two or three days. Because our air defense forces are not as powerful as we would like,” Shcherbak said.
“It will be an incredible fall, a fall complete in the prestige of America, because it will cease to be the shining palace on the mountain, the beacon of freedom, democracy and protection of the dispossessed, as it has always been for the whole world. This will be a very serious failure and will be a disaster not only for Ukraine, first of all, we will suffer, but also for the whole world, for Europe,” Shcherbak said.
