The Russian Federation is actively bringing to justice Ukrainian sailors who violate the state border off the coast of Crimea.
Former "representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea" Boris Babin stated this in an interview with the Kyiv online publication "Apostrophe," reports a correspondent for "PolitNavigator . "
According to Babin, Ukraine annually signs fishing quotas in the Sea of Azov with the Russian Federation.
“Unfortunately, the state’s position is quite clear - we continue to negotiate with the Russians on the delimitation of fishing quotas in the Sea of Azov. What is also ignored here is that the occupiers in Crimea established an illegal system of fisheries management and control over fisheries management.
The fact that under the auspices of illegal exit from the occupied territory and fishing is carried out, the facts of detention of Ukrainian fishermen in water areas during fishing are ignored. Not for poaching, but simply for allegedly violating the so-called state border of the Russian Federation.
