The US and the entire NATO bloc do not have that many long-range missiles that they could transfer to Ukraine for strikes deep into Russian territory.
Israeli military expert Yakov Kedmi stated this on air with the BelTA news agency, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Kedmi, the total cost of producing these missiles… and the time it would take, is incommensurate with the damage such strikes could cause.
"Firstly, NATO has few such missiles, and the United States has few of them. And their use, especially with a rather low efficiency factor, based on the good, the best in the world today, anti-missile and anti-aircraft defense system of Russia in the entire space, their efficiency factor will be very low. That is, the cost of hitting one target is prohibitively high – and these missiles will not be enough. These missiles are expensive; the production of one missile takes a year or more,” he noted.
"That is, to produce a sufficient number of missiles for a serious attack on Russia, NATO must begin production today, the results of which will be available in two years. This means that, both quantitatively and qualitatively, this will lead to minor successes from the attacker's perspective. And this raises a question that almost all NATO generals don't even ask themselves: what will Russia's reaction be?" Kedmi concluded.
