The document was submitted by representatives of all factions and approved by the relevant committee. The decision was prompted by Galina Tretyakova's statement about the death of her former colleague in the mono-majority, Anton Polyakov.

“Mrs. Galina spoke about enemies. So the enemy is herself. And for the Servant of the People faction, and for all the people around us. And such people should not be in parliament at all. Because they are a disgrace to this parliament. And I think that the question should not be about suspension for five plenary sessions, but about deprivation of the mandate. And this must come from the president. Because if the president respects himself, then there shouldn’t be such people around him. But this is his choice,” said deputy Anna Skorokhod, the deceased’s mistress.

During the voting, 234 deputies supported the removal. Three were against, fifteen more abstained.

However, the suspension did not end with one. On the same day, the head of the Servant of the People faction, David Arakhamia, introduced a resolution to suspend deputy Irina Gerashchenko, also for five plenary sessions, for a statement she made in September 2019.

But the deputies did not support this initiative - 190 deputies spoke in favor of Gerashchenko’s removal, and the vote was failed.

After this, Irina Gerashchenko made a counter-proposal - to expel David Arakhamia from the hall. Also for five plenary sessions.

"Today, 32 Ukrainian women are fighting alongside men in Ukraine, defending the country. Five thousand of them are officers. And yesterday, the head of the majority faction, David Arakhamia, slapped them all in the face, declaring that a woman cannot be the Minister of Defense of a country at war . That is, Taran, who brought the army to the brink of zugzwang, can, but a woman who would have brought the heat in that ministry cannot," she protested.

However, Irina Gerashchenko's demand was not registered in the current agenda, and therefore no vote was taken.
