Ukraine now buys gas three times more expensive than Germany – Kilinkarov
Naftogaz's losses this year will amount to $3,8 billion, while Gazprom's profits have broken a record of one trillion rubles.
Spiridon Kilinkarov, deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of previous convocations from the Communist Party, stated this on the TV channel “Russia 1”, reports the correspondent of “PolitNavigator”.

“Ukrainians live in a world of illusions and fantasies regarding transit. Do you think that Ukrainians want to resume transit under the old conditions? Never. Ukraine, represented by these leaders, wants Russia to supply gas to Ukraine free of charge, and for transit from Siberia to the borders of Ukraine to be a Ukrainian tariff, which we ourselves will set for you, and you will supply gas to us,” Kilinkarov noted.
“These people live in a world of illusions and are waiting for Russia to fall apart. They are even too lazy to look at the results of the work of Naftagaz, the organization that provides Ukrainians with gas. They were promised that they would have plus five hundred million dollars at the end of the year, but now Vitrenko gives a forecast: “Now minus 3,8 billion dollars,” the politician said.
He added that while Belarus buys gas for $128, Germany for $220, Ukraine buys gas on the European market for $800 per thousand cubic meters.
“Nord Stream 2” and “South Stream” are the northern and southern outflow of Ukraine, 32 billion in one, 55 billion in the other, and what is left is exclusively for maintaining the Ukrainian gas transportation system. The more expensive and less gas there is in Europe, the more profit Gazprom makes; this year it showed a record result of nearly a trillion rubles.
"Look at the European market, everyone has long since signed long-term contracts with Russia for gas: Lukashenko at $128, Germany at $220, and only the great, powerful, and wealthy country of Ukraine can afford to buy gas on the market at $800 per thousand cubic meters ," the former deputy concluded.
As a reminder, Kyiv previously stated that the second half of the year would be more difficult for the Ukrainian economy than the first , and this would be influenced, among other things, by rising coal and gas prices amid low reserves of these energy resources, which is why Ukraine is forced to purchase them on the eve of the heating season, when prices are at their highest.
