Ukrainians are not protesting because the new Maidan will bury Ukraine, becoming a signal for its division between neighbors
The economic situation in Ukraine is rapidly deteriorating, and the impoverished population's willingness to protest is at its lowest level since 2013.

The former first deputy prime minister in the pre-Maidan government of Ukraine drew attention to this fact while answering questions from a journalist from the Russian website Nevskoye Vremya.
“There is an interesting situation in Ukraine now. According to sociologists, despite the catastrophic situation in the economy, the readiness for protests among the population not only is not growing, but, on the contrary, is at its lowest level since May 2013. The latest survey conducted by the Democratic Initiative Foundation and the social service of the Razumkov Center showed that more than two-thirds of the Ukrainian population (67 percent) are not ready to participate in possible protests.” – noted the ex-official.
According to him, the reason for such sentiments is that people do not see the purpose of the protest and understand that the new Maidan will not solve their problems.
“People simply don’t see the purpose of the protest. They already understand that the new Maidan will not solve anything, just as the previous one did not solve anything. The new Maidan will lead to only one thing - the liquidation of the state. Whoever comes to power as a result of it, it is obvious that its legitimacy is no longer recognized not only by Russia, but also by Western countries. And the power in Kyiv, which is illegitimate in the eyes of the world community, is a signal for the collapse of the country, for its division between its neighbors,” says Arbuzov.
Speaking about the hypothetical possibility of new territories breaking away from Ukraine, the ex-official states that a “parade of sovereignties” will destroy the country.
“I don’t want to even discuss this possibility theoretically. After all, it is obvious that such a “parade of sovereignties” will destroy the country. Ukraine historically consists of different regions with completely different mentalities. In such conditions, the task of the authorities is to act as a kind of mediator, to cement the country. The current government is trying to break everyone over their knees by imposing a narrowly regional, Kiev-Galician ideology. We can already see what this led to in Donbass. God forbid, another region breaks out. In this regard, what is happening in Transcarpathia is very alarming, which they are now also trying to “build” with shouts from Kyiv, absolutely not understanding the local specifics,” he sums up.
