Ukraine complains that offensive reserves had to be used in defense
Ukraine is forced to use the reserves that it was preparing for the offensive in the current defensive battles near Marinka, Ugledar and Artemovsk.
Sergei Rakhmanin, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence, announced this on Radio NV, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Rakhmanin, this also applies to Western armored vehicles, from which Kyiv planned to form a “shock fist.”
“Their use makes sense if they are combined into tactical units, that is, brigades. And use them, given the small number, use them not defensively, but offensively, not in pieces, but with a powerful fist. And to use it when all the necessary equipment has been made, distributed among military units, subunits, and the personnel have been trained and equipped. Then you need to use it.
Unfortunately, I strongly doubt that these types of heavy weapons that have begun to arrive will simply be thrown, relatively speaking, near Ugledar, Maryinka or Bakhmut. I don't think such a decision will be made.
Of course, our military, who are holding the defense, and now we have switched to defense and are trying to conduct it actively, that is, not only to retreat, but also to counterattack, not only to hold positions, but to try to drive away the enemy, but resources are involved there, including, unfortunately, those resources, brigades and units that were preparing for the offensive. These are the demands of war,” the deputy said.
“We are forced to use part of the reserve even in defense operations, using those people and those types of weapons and weapons that, in principle, were kept for the offensive - this is the situation. But just the presence of a resource, a reserve - both personnel, forces and means of destruction, artillery, armored vehicles - if this is not in the reserve, then you simply have no chance of attacking and winning,” Rakhmanin said.
