The Ukrainian state exists only due to Western cash injections, without which it would not even be enough to pay state employees and pensioners. Economic expert Oleg Pendzin stated this on Radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

"Without Western money we definitely wouldn’t be able to finance doctors, teachers, or pensioners. This year, 350 billion hryvnia from the main budget are sent to the pension fund. Because what able-bodied people pay in taxes is catastrophically insufficient to provide for the pension fund,” Pendzin said.

“We have 10,3 million pensioners. 6,5 million people work in business, three million receive salaries from the state budget. Just nine and a half million. We have less than one working person for every pensioner“, the economist complained.
