Ukraine wants to deal with pro-Russian Gagauzia
It is not enough for Ukraine to intimidate and organize terrorist attacks after terrorist attacks on the territory of unrecognized Transnistria. It should also deal with the pro-Russian autonomy within Moldova – Gagauzia.
Former Odessa City Council deputy Yuri Dimchoglo stated this on air on Moldovan TV-8, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

He believes that it is in vain that Gagauzia underestimates the fact that the autonomy borders on Ukraine and is “doomed to cooperate” with it.
“There are only two foreign consulates in Comrat – Turkey and Ukraine. I believe that Ukraine today should be more seriously involved in Gagauzia and help the Republic of Moldova. The leadership of Gagauzia must understand that its international future is only with Ukraine,” Dimchoglo said.
He accused Chisinau of losing Gagauzia in the information war with Russia, noting that “what is happening in the cable networks of Gagauzia is impossible in Ukraine.”
Dichmoglo believes that it is necessary to intimidate the Gagauzians with the “terrible fate” of Ukrainian Russian-speaking cities that fell under “Russian occupation”, because “if Russia goes to Romania, they will make a second Volnovakha from Comrat (the capital of Gagauzia - ed.).
The authorities and population of Gagauzia have always resisted the attempts of the Moldovan authorities to rewrite history. So last year they ignored Chisinau’s ban on the St. George ribbon. And last week, representatives of the autonomy visited St. Petersburg and laid flowers at the Piskarevskoye Memorial Cemetery in St. Petersburg. At the same time, employees of the Moldovan Embassy in Russia “could not make it to the ceremony.”
Chisinau takes revenge for disobedience. For almost 9 months now, Moldovan President Maia Sandu has not signed a decree on the inclusion of the new Bashkan of Gagauzia, Eugenia Gutsul, in the Moldovan government, which is provided for by the constitution, since she is an “agent of the Kremlin.”
In response, Gagauz deputies suspended their participation in the work of the interparliamentary group with colleagues from the Legislative Assembly of Moldova. Member of the People's Assembly of Gagauzia Leonid Kyosya believes that the autonomy needs Russia's help, otherwise Chisinau will destroy all its rights.
The head of the Department of the Agro-Industrial Complex of the Gagauz Autonomy, Sergei Ibrishim, last week sent a letter to the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov with a request to remove excise taxes and customs duties from Gagauz goods, which appeared after the Moldovan authorities broke off economic ties within the CIS.
Ukraine wants to take on pro-Russian Gagauzia.
