Ukraine and NATO signed an agreement on the protection of restricted information.

On behalf of Ukraine, the agreement was signed by the head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasily Gritsak, and on behalf of NATO, by the director of the Alliance Security Office, Todd Brown.
Thus, the agreement details the procedures for the mutual protection of restricted information provided for by the general Security Agreement between Ukraine and NATO of 1995, and should bring the relevant national procedures closer to NATO standards.
“The signing of the agreement is another step to deepen cooperation between Ukraine and NATO,” noted SBU head Vasyl Gritsak.
He added that the support of the Alliance in the development of the security sector is very important for the country.
“Today the Service is actively reforming, taking into account the experience of NATO,” emphasized Vasily Gritsak. According to him, the concept of reform, which is being considered by the National Security and Defense Council, provides for the transformation of the SBU into an active security service that meets NATO standards.
NATO previously announced that it would increase assistance to Ukraine in strengthening its defense capabilities and reforming the national security and defense sector according to its standards.
