They will never clear snow in Kyiv again – journalist’s forecast
The communal disaster in Kyiv actually happened not today, but in 2004, when the infrastructure left over from the USSR began to fail to withstand the load and fail en masse.

This opinion was expressed on his social network page by Vyacheslav Chechilo, a journalist for the Kyiv publication Capital.
“Already under Chernovetsky, the city did not have time to patch broken pipes, and all problems were solved mainly through borrowed funds. Under Popov, a small miracle happened - money suddenly began pouring into Kyiv. For some reason, Yanukovych’s entourage imagined that the people of Kiev would be grateful if they built metro and interchanges. This created the illusion of the presence of some mythical “money” in the city. But the money was no longer from the city, but from the state budget, and it was spent as the government saw fit. The same snow removal was not included in this list,” writes the journalist.
According to him, the situation changed after the Maidan.
“Then Klitschko came. In his person, the townspeople finally received that very “chessna vlada” that they suffered through on the Maidan. Honest in the sense that she is forced to live within her means. Nobody gives loans anymore, and the government is not going to finance city problems. That is why the mayor is demolishing the stalls - nothing else can be done in the city without money,” states Vyacheslav Chechilo.
The final conclusion of the Kyiv journalist is disappointing: “What is all this for? Besides, you need to think not about the fact that the snow is not removed - it will never be removed here again. We need to think about what will happen when the Bortnicheskaya aeration station fails or the heating mains rot,” he concluded.
