The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not rule out the cessation of air traffic with the United States due to difficulties in obtaining American visas, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The situation with the issuance of American visas in Russia is extremely depressing. The official waiting period for an interview, which was increased to 2017 days in August 85, was recently extended to 250 days, that is, 8 months. In other words, applying for visas becomes pointless,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Moscow accuses Washington of deliberately intentional visa blockade as an additional lever of pressure. Russia is especially outraged by the failure to issue visas to Aeroflot pilots.
“We are surprised by the ongoing attempts to justify the sharp decline in the issuance of American visas to Russian citizens” by the lack of personnel “in consular offices, and even to blame the Russian authorities for this,” the statement said.
The Russian Foreign Ministry also emphasizes that Russia is not to blame for anything and has tried in every possible way to maintain normal diplomatic relations and fully ensures the work of American diplomatic representatives on the territory of its country.
“It is no longer even possible to rule out that our countries will be left without air traffic,” the Foreign Ministry said.
Lavrov hasn't ruled out Aeroflot ceasing flights to the US.
