Klitschko promises Kiev residents drowning in snow that “in the coming years” the mayor’s office will purchase snow removal equipment
On Saturday and Sunday, 14 thousand tons of snow were removed from Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

This was stated by the deputy head of the capital’s administration Dmitry Davtyan, the KSCA website reports.
According to his information, snow is transported to vacant lots on Pirogovsky Put, Bogatyrskaya, Fevralskaya streets, and between Signalnaya and Medovaya streets, as well as to other snow storage places determined by order of the Kyiv City State Administration (31 in total).
“We know that a record amount of snow fell in the capital, and about 700 units of cleaning equipment were involved in cleaning. The main highways of the city, bridges and slopes were removed first. They also monitored the cleaning of transport stops, approaches to underground and overground passages, flights of stairs, sidewalks and the like,” Davtyan noted.
At the same time, according to him, for quick and complete cleaning, Kyiv needs 1000 units of special equipment. Now there is no such quantity in the capital, but in the coming years it is planned to solve this problem, Davtyan emphasized.
