The contracting company VAD cleared the Tavrida highway from snow from Kerch to the border of the Belogorsk district after numerous complaints from motorists who literally flooded social networks with messages about an emergency situation on the new road during the Christmas holidays, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The contractor company for the Tavrida highway discovered violations in snow removal at the first and second stages of the road. Therefore, additional equipment was brought in. The company intends to take disciplinary measures against those responsible,” the Crimea-24 TV channel reported today.
After snowfall on the eve of Christmas, the Tavrida highway was completely icy, and drivers could move along it in the dark at a speed of 20-40 km per hour. Although the road was initially built in order to reduce travel time from the largest cities of Crimea to the bridge across the Kerch Strait.
