Former Minister of Fuel and Energy of Ukraine, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Kievenergo Ivan Plachkov hopes that in the future relations between Ukraine and Russia will improve. He stated this at a press conference in Kyiv.
“We can get rid of Russian energy resources, but I wouldn’t want to,” he said, answering questions from journalists. – We can reduce the consumption of Russian energy resources, and this is, first of all, gas, if we ensure a reverse flow in the amount of 8-12 billion.
But I cannot imagine the life of two countries, two neighboring peoples, who are so connected, with such relations. This is temporary, this is nonsense, and the nonsense is not of the people, but of other people, and it will end. I don't believe this will continue in the future. I don’t understand the border between Ukraine and Moldova at all. If in Europe there are no borders, even the currency is the same, but we are strengthening the borders. We are doing things that are exactly the opposite of what civilized people do, who have no borders, no visas, one currency... So, does this make France less of France? Or has Germany become less of Germany?”
Akhmetov's top manager called the conflict with Russia "stupid" and called for the elimination of the border with Moldova.
