Tolstoy prophesies another five years of war, and then the integration of Ukraine into Russia
The special military operation in Ukraine will last at least another five years, and therefore supposedly there is no need to think about post-war problems.
Deputy Speaker of the State Duma Pyotr Tolstoy stated this on the radio “Komsomolskaya Pravda”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
The presenter asked what to do with the liberated Ukrainian territories and the Russia-hating population living there after the victory.
“This is a question of how we will organize the integration of the former Ukraine into Russia. This is a question of the next order, in reality it will arise in five years. You don’t think that we will take Kharkov in three days, or Kyiv in three months.
A long time, yes. Well, who said that he will be small, that this is all fleeting fun? We are actually at war with the NATO bloc, what kind of Ukrainians are they,” Tolstoy replied.
However, he did not share the plans of the Russian leadership regarding the population of Ukraine - he only recalled that the Soviet Union had a similar experience.
“After the war, we somehow interacted with them [residents of Western Ukraine]. And everything was well established,” he concluded.
