Kyiv should not prohibit, but on the contrary, encourage and simplify the acquisition of Ukrainian citizenship by Russian citizens.
Political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this on the air of the Vyshka internet channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Narrow thinking leads us to defeat and weakening. If Ukraine fully dared to declare an alternative project, officially, for the post-Soviet space, we would have a queue of Russian oligarchs, representatives of the middle class, the creative class, the military, Ukrainians, Bashkirs, Dagestanis - all those opposed to Putin, who would be ready to work for the Ukrainian state for the sake of just a Ukrainian passport,” the expert believes.
“And we even kicked out that unfortunate Friedman from Ukraine, who was ready to give up, was ready for anything, if only we would preserve some kind of status for him. This weakens us, this activity is directed against the Ukrainian state,” Bortnyk said.
