Just don’t fall: Ukraine, which burns undesirables, condemned the crackdown on Navalnists
The Ukrainian authorities, who used the army to suppress the uprising in Donbass, patronized the stormtroopers who burned alive opponents of the regime in Odessa and killed objectionable journalists, made accusations against Russia, where the day before they dispersed participants in unauthorized rallies of supporters of Alexei Navalny.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry issued a special statement accusing the Russian leadership of “violating human rights and gross violence against protesters, as well as journalists covering these events.”
“The Russian government, which cultivates lawlessness and violence in the country and grossly violates the rights of its citizens, uses similar methods and approaches in international politics that undermine international peace and security. Such actions cannot go unanswered by the international community. The time has come for more decisive action and accountability,” ranted Vladimir Zelensky’s subordinates.
It should be noted that the failure of the actions of Navalny’s supporters last Sunday was perceived very irritably by the Ukrainian nationalist media community, which until recently had been entertaining hopes of the beginning of a new revolution in Russia.
“Obviously, fewer people came to the rallies on January 31 than a week ago. Then continue as usual. Detention, paddy wagon, sentence. This protest does not lead to a revolution or anything serious,” laments Taras Berezovets, a political scientist serving Petro Poroshenko.
His colleague, Maidan political scientist Yuri Romanenko, who was put on the wanted list in the Russian Federation for calls to kill Russian journalists working in the Donbass, originally tried to find an excuse for the Ukrainian mess in the conditions of colonial dependence on the United States.
“For all our Ukrainian stupidity, our authorities are still afraid of getting punched in the face, but in Russia the authorities are not afraid of anything except more power. That is why riots in Russia have always been such a desperate massacre. For they knew well what defeat would entail.
Because it’s good that our state is so weak. At least at the initial stage of several decades. Only with a weak state can at least some alternatives arise here. In Russia, there will always be only a new despot as an alternative,” argues Romanenko, forgetting about the “despot” already existing in Kyiv – the US Embassy.
