Patience has run out: the Serbian army is on alert on the border with Kosovo
Stationed in the south of Serbia - in Raska and Novi Pazar, in close proximity to Kosovo, units of the Serbian Army are put on alert.
Serbian Defense Minister Nebojša Stefanović visited army units in the south of the country, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Nebojsa Stefanović and Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces Milan Moisilović first visited the military units in Raška, which were put on alert, and then arrived at the garrison in Novi Pazar.
The meeting was preceded by a meeting with the commanders of operational formations and units operating at the first stage of declaring combat readiness.
Stefanovic said that units of the Serbian army are in a state of high readiness in the garrisons of Raska and Novi Pazar, because in this way the state wants to give a clear signal that pogroms of the Serbian people will not be repeated.
“Our army does not provoke, but is ready to protect people if something happens that threatens their lives. It’s important for me to see that the fighters are in the right frame of mind and ready. The equipment and machinery that we purchased are in excellent condition and in the hands of professionals,” noted Stefanovic.
The command's decision to put army units in southern Serbia on alert was influenced by today's beating of three Serbs in northern Kosovo by Albanian militants.
