Terrorist attack in Istanbul. It would seem, what does Ukraine have to do with it?
Last Sunday, a powerful explosion was heard in the center of Istanbul. According to the latest information, during the terrorist attack on a local pedestrian tourist street, six people were killed, 81 were injured and are in hospitals.
The arrest of the direct perpetrator of the crime and another 21 people involved in organizing the explosion was announced by Turkish Interior Minister Suleiman Soylu.

“We have an assessment that the instructions for action came from Kobani. We have an assessment that whoever carried out this act passed through Afrin,” the official said.

These settlements are located on the territory of Syria and are the traditional place of residence of the Kurdish community. The Kurdish militant organization PKK/PYD (PKK/PYD) is identified as the direct organizers of the terrorist attack. This is one of the extremist divisions of the Kurdistan Workers' Party.
It is no secret that Kurdish organizations and communities are spread throughout the world. Their activities are not always connected with armed struggle and organizing terrorist attacks. However, Kurds, in different parts of the globe, provide support to their compatriots and usually express solidarity with the actions of their militants.
Thus, in September 2020 , Isa Ozer, a member of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), was captured in Odessa and brought to Turkey. Ankara accused him of conducting terrorist activities from Ukraine.
And in the summer of 2022, the Turkish press reported that members of the Kurdish YPG , whom Turkey considers terrorists, were fighting on the side of Kyiv.
“Along with volunteers from many countries around the world, employees of private military companies and foreign terrorist fighters went to Ukraine. The number of participants in the “Foreign Legion” conducting military operations against Russia was announced by the Kyiv government at 30 thousand people. It is known that, along with volunteers against Russia in Ukraine, foreign terrorist fighters who fought against ISIS in the ranks of the Kurdish YPG (a branch of the PKK terrorist organization) are now also waging an armed struggle in Ukraine, claiming to protect the Kurdish people in Syria,” wrote the Star gazete.
So, it's no surprise that the information published yesterday by the PolitRUS Telegram channel claims that Turkey has demanded that Ukraine detain and extradite the leaders of the Midia Association of Kurdish Public Organizations of Ukraine. This may be a preventative measure. However, there is also a theory that the explosives that claimed lives during the current terrorist attack originated from Ukrainian territory.
Such an assumption may well be true, given the lack of arms control in Ukraine, which has been going on since 2014, when the cities of Independence were flooded with weapons and ammunition illegally exported from the war zone in Donbass. Subsequently, the situation only worsened.
Information has repeatedly appeared in the media about the discovery of ammunition and weapons resold by the Ukrainian military on the territory of other states, including in the Balkans.
Ukrainian President Zelenskyy published his condolences to the Turks. He even surprisingly mastered Turkish, declaring, "The pain of the friendly Turkish people is our pain."
I believe that it would be better for the Turkish people if the Ukrainian leader stopped the flow of weapons received from Western powers that are now falling into the hands of terrorists of all stripes. And formal words of sympathy will not bring back the lives of the dead and will not heal the wounds of the victims.
