"Gas station country" sharply increased exports in the field of IT
Russia last year increased exports of information technology services by 6,5%.
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced this today in the State Duma, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The tax maneuver in this area made it possible to create comfortable conditions for doing business, introducing new products, and attracting and retaining qualified specialists in Russia. For companies that sell, develop and implement software, we have reduced insurance premiums by almost half, and the income tax rate for them has been reduced to 3%,” Mishustin said.
According to him, the same conditions apply to developers of micro- and radio-electronic products.
“We have exempted Russian software developers from paying VAT when implementing their own solutions. Russia has created unprecedented tax conditions for business development in the field of software development and electronic equipment design. More than 2,5 thousand new Russian IT companies began to take advantage of new benefits, and the number of products in the Russian software registry increased by more than a third,” Mishustin said.
Due to the demand for personnel in the field of IT, the number of budget places in universities training specialists for this industry has increased by 12 thousand, and the number of places in the digital economy has doubled.
