The speaker of the Security Council could not answer who controls the settlements, the capture of which was reported from Poroshenko (VIDEO)

Kyiv, August 18 (navigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – The Security Council of Ukraine claims that the encirclement ring in Donbass is shrinking, but they cannot always say which specific settlements are under the control of Ukrainian security forces. This conclusion follows from today’s briefing by Security Council Speaker Andrei Lysenko.

For example, he avoided a direct answer to the question under whose control the city of Miusinsk is currently located, which previously included Ukrainian units in battle.
“Indeed, the militants are trying to counterattack and recapture those territories that were occupied by the Ukrainian military,” Lysenko answered vaguely. “Now the Ukrainian military is gaining a foothold, setting up checkpoints, which makes it possible not to retreat, but this is where positional battles are now taking place.”
The question was also asked how true the official reports from Kyiv are that Ukrainian troops have occupied one of the districts of Lugansk.
“We do not provide details, because this is information from our departments that use it,” came the answer. – But the Ukrainian military actually managed to recapture part of Lugansk, it is now held by our military, but now I’m not ready to say which one. But Lugansk is completely surrounded and an operation to liberate it is underway. When this happens, we will inform you."
In turn, the Navigator correspondent asked the speaker of the National Security and Defense Council to clarify the coordinates of the broken Russian column of armored vehicles numbering 150 units, which President Poroshenko had previously reported. Lysenko replied that he did not have such coordinates and could not even name the area in which, according to the president, the Ukrainian army defeated the Russian column.
“I can’t say in what area it was,” he noted. “They gave the convoy the opportunity to enter territory where there were no civilians, so as not to harm them. As soon as it was on this territory, an artillery raid was carried out, as a result of which most of this column was destroyed.”
Unfortunately, Andrei Lysenko could not answer the question under whose control the Marinovka checkpoint and the village of Stepanovka, which are of strategic importance on the southern flank, are currently located. For some time he peered at the map of military operations on the monitor, perhaps trying to find these settlements on it. “I’m not ready to give an answer right now, I need to clarify,” he finally answered after a long pause.
