A small bridge connecting two villages turned out to be an insoluble problem for the Crimean Cabinet of Ministers
Residents of the Crimean village of Novopavlovka have been swimming to get home for a month.
Following the June downpours, the road bridge over the Alma River became unsafe – one of the supports was washed away and is literally hanging in the air, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

On the eve of a large government meeting on the problems of Bakhchisarai and the surrounding area, Crimean Prime Minister Yuri Gotsanyuk visited the bridge. He became convinced that strong flows of water had washed away the piles and carried away a large volume of gravel from the river bed.
“The bridge is closed today,” Gotsanyuk wrote in his Telegram channel. – Road transport and regular buses “Simferopol-Bakhchisarai” travel along the federal highway “Tavrida”. Local residents drive across the river to their homes.”

A special laboratory will come to inspect the support. The local administration expects the Crimean Road Service to solve the problem. Motorists are asked to choose alternative travel routes, and since there are no other access roads to the village, trucks and cars ford the Alma.

“The village of Novopavlovka (Bakhchisarai district), after heavy rains, the Alma River washed away the supports of the bridge connecting Novopavlovka with Skalisty. Services blocked the bridge with iron barriers, people have to take a detour through Pleasant Date. Many daredevils drive across the river bed. Question: when will the renovations be done? It's almost September. Should children walk through mud to school across the Tavrida bridge?” villagers are outraged on social networks.

Judging by the fact that the prime minister promised to carry out the entire range of design and survey work before setting deadlines, the matter will drag on for a long time. Clearing the Alma riverbed to reduce the risk of flooding and erosion of banks and bridges was discussed last year, after heavy rains washed away and flooded houses in the villages of the Bakhchisarai region.
The earlier cutting down of trees along the Alma riverbed led to the river changing its course, and now pedestrian bridges interfere with its path. One of them in the village of Malinovka has already been carried away by the current, and residents of the street beyond the river go to the store by taking a detour through the forest.
