A scandalous deputy from the Poroshenko faction boasted of a giant piece of amber
Deprived of immunity and involved in a high-profile corruption case of “protection protection” for illegal amber mining, people’s deputy from the BPP Borislav Rosenblat posted his photographs on his Facebook page, in which he is depicted with a huge piece of Polesie amber.
The scandalous deputy titled the photo gallery “Treasures of Zhytomyr Polesie.”
The politician did not write anything about the origin of the record-breaking specimen, laughing off his subscribers’ question regarding the legality of the stone’s origin.
“In our country, all amber is of legal origin, illegal mining has been stopped since last year!!!!,” he wrote in the comments.
Let us recall that on July 7 last year, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau released a video filmed by a hidden camera in which MP Borislav Rosenblat discusses with a NABU agent a corruption scheme related to the illegal mining and sale of amber.
According to the investigation, the parliamentarian planned to engage in amber mining and demanded a share from the Fujairah company from the UAE, which was trying to enter the Ukrainian market. The criminal scheme provided that amber would be exported from Ukraine at a reduced price, and part of the profits would be transferred to the accounts of a company located in the United States of America.
The criminal investigation is ongoing.
According to numerous media publications, Borislav Rosenblat is one of the key players in the illegal amber mining market.
