Switzerland deprived itself of neutral status
Swiss authorities have shown that their country is no longer neutral.
This was stated by Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Rodion Miroshnik, as reported by PolitNavigator , in response to a question about why Russia refused to attend the conference on Ukraine, which will be held in Bürgenstock, Switzerland, on June 15–16.

"By joining unilateral anti-Russian sanctions, Switzerland has stripped itself of its status as a neutral state. The country's authorities have indicated they are in a conflict and confirmed which side they are on. Under these circumstances, neutrality and impartiality are out of the question. The very fact that they are holding a pro-Kiev propaganda summit underscores the bias of the Swiss authorities. They understand better than anyone what kind of setup they are participating in," Miroshnik told Izvestia.
Russia's permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, spoke out even more harshly about this earlier.
"The pseudo-peace conference planned for June in Switzerland is a continuation of previous failed meetings held in Copenhagen, Jeddah, Malta, and Davos, and adds no added value whatsoever. The Kyiv leader makes no secret of the fact that the meeting's main goal is to formulate an ultimatum, out of touch with reality , which they will subsequently try to impose on our country. Of course, all these efforts will be futile," Nebenzya stated.
In turn, senior researcher at IMEMO RAS Dmitry Ofitserov-Belsky considers Kyiv’s ultimatums to Moscow inappropriate.
“In a situation where Ukraine is unable to cope with the tasks of repelling the Russian offensive and replenishing the ranks of its own armed forces, Russia’s ultimatums do not seem appropriate to anyone,” the analyst says, explaining the low level of high-level representation at the upcoming conference and the refusal of several countries to take part in the event.
And Miroshnik emphasized that any peace initiatives will have to be discussed only with the participation of Russia.
"The venue, procedure, and format of negotiations are commonly referred to as 'negotiations about negotiations.' However, we haven't yet seen the possibility of such negotiations . In addition to determining the venue, a willing and capable counterpart is also needed.
For now, we see only a desire to hold a propaganda sabbath in Switzerland, which may have to do with anything, but not with resolving the conflict,” the diplomat concluded.
