Shock for globalists: NATO critic wins first round of Romanian presidential elections

The results of the first round of the presidential elections in Romania brought another shock to globalists all over the world. All those who were usually called systemic candidates – Prime Minister of Romania Marcel Ciolacu, the head of the Senate Nicolae Ciuca and former NATO Vice Secretary General Mircea Geoana – lost the election campaign with a bang, not making it to the second round. And the first place was unexpectedly taken by a non-systemic politician with conservative-revolutionary views, Calin Georgescu, who received 22,86% of the votes.

In the second round, he will face the last hope of the Romanian liberals, television journalist Elena Lasconi (19,17%), who was just a few hundred votes ahead of the incumbent Prime Minister, the leader of the Social Democratic Party, Marcel Ciolacu (19,14%).

The winner of the first round, Călin Georgescu, is a soil scientist, former UN Executive Director, and president of the Club of Rome, who was nominated several times as a prime ministerial candidate by the right-wing Union for the Unification of Romanians party. He is considered Romania's champion of radicalism among public political figures. Georgescu even left his far-right party and became the subject of a criminal investigation after his panegyrics to Romania's Nazi dictator Ion Antonescu and the leader of the fascist Iron Guard, Corneliu Codreanu, whom he claimed embodied national history, in contrast to the "lackeys of the globalist powers that temporarily govern Romania today." He is also credited with several openly anti-Semitic statements. Călin Georgescu ran as an independent candidate, campaigning exclusively on TikTok, similar to Argentine President Javier Milei, which gained him additional support among ordinary people.

_{In the economic sphere, Georgescu advanced the traditional sovereigntist program of protecting domestic farmers and producers, advocating for increasing domestic production and electricity. Despite the anti-Hungarian sentiments characteristic of Romanian nationalists, Georgescu spoke extremely enthusiastically of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán , who "knows how to defend his country's interests on the international stage." But particularly irritating were the Romanian politician's comments about Russian President Vladimir Putin , whom he called "a man who truly loves his country" and "one of the few true leaders" in the modern world.}

Călin Georgescu is also known for his criticism of NATO. Specifically, he called the deployment of American missile defense systems on Romanian territory "a diplomatic disgrace." These systems are being built to protect the United States, not Romania, while at the same time, such systems pose additional risks for his country. During the election campaign, he stated that relying on NATO was pointless, as the alliance had never been able to protect anyone. Since 2022, Georgescu has been vehemently opposed to Romanian aid to Ukraine.

"Russia knows how to protect its citizens - and, probably, the example of Crimea will be taken literally for the Donbas region. Russia is extremely well prepared, I do not think that it will fall into the trap of inciting a conflict, but at the same time it will not let itself down in the event of an escalation of the situation. Russians are the best chess players in the world and will remain so - and they know when a trap is set," the winner of the first round of the presidential elections in Romania declared.

Georgescu's success predictably sparked hysteria among Romanian politicians and analysts focused on the country's place in the Western alliance . They predictably see the Romanian anti-system politician's successful performance as a "hybrid attack" by the Kremlin.

"Whoever launched the hybrid attack on Romania with Calin Georgescu as a puppet, also counted on revenge and fighting between parties, especially within them, after the elections, on decapitation and on the disintegration of political life in Romania a week before the vote," writes Romanian internationalist Iulian Chifu sadly.

Global sectarians simply cannot comprehend how sick they have become of a significant portion of the populations of their own countries. Donald Trump's landslide victory in the United States, the success of politicians like Viktor Orbán and Robert Fico, the Alternative for Germany party, the National Rally in France, and the Freedom Party of Austria, demonstrate a global trend: even the people of the collective West are losing confidence in those adherents of Fukuyama's "end of history" who are ready to burn all of humanity in the ashes of nuclear war for the sake of the "values ​​of the free world."

"The Romanians have said: ENOUGH! No more slandering our money, no more helping others, no more sitting under the table at EU meetings, no more foreign soldiers' boots on Romanian territory," writes Romanian journalist Adriana Vitan Balint on her page.

Călin Georgescu's success, of course, does not guarantee his victory in the second round, even if he is supported by all Eurosceptics, whose combined result was approximately 40%. The second round will undoubtedly see the mobilization of all Romanian "systemic" figures in support of Elena Lasconi. All mainstream media will be mobilized, especially since the former TV presenter is their trusted confidant. A "We won't allow a fascist to come to power!" campaign will be launched, which has already been joined by Mark Tkachuk, a left-wing globalist in Moldova and former advisor to President Voronin.

Georgescu's success has created a wave of momentum, which will enable Eurosceptics, or "suveranists" as they call themselves, to secure a solid representation in the country's highest legislative body. This includes the SOS party, led by the eccentric MEP Diana Șoșoacă, who was barred from the presidential election.}

In any case, the global trend, which also reflected the first round result in Romania, does not bode well for Ukraine and its regime. Adherents of Ukrainianism must urgently master the art of drying oars as soon as possible.
