Shariy declared himself Euroukr
Ukraine is unlikely to become a member of the EU and NATO, but it should strive to be independent and adopt all the best from the West.
Video blogger and newly minted politician Anatoly Shariy said this during a live broadcast on the Odessa TV channel “Southern Wave,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“No one in NATO is waiting for Ukraine; if NATO were waiting for Ukraine, I believe that Ukraine would have been there two years ago. I am against Ukraine joining NATO, because we are on the border - you know with whom, and in any case this is not good for Ukraine. I think non-aligned status is great.
I am a pro-Ukrainian politician with a European orientation, I live in Europe, Europe is my home, and I love Europe with all my heart, and I see what is happening in Europe and what has happened in Ukraine over these five years, when Poroshenko said that this and there is a European movement – it was a movement, I don’t want to put it that way, in the wrong direction...
What was being built was not Europe, it was a fucking scoop in the worst sense of the word, not the Soviet Union, but a fucking callous scoop, but for some reason everywhere, under this complete propaganda, it was said that this was the way to Europe. As a European person, I can say that this had nothing to do with Europe,” Shariy said.
“In fact, the road to the EU is like the road to communism: we are going to Europe, we are constantly going to Europe. Where are you going? You've been going around in circles for 27 years, actually. I don’t understand why Ukraine can’t remain pro-Ukrainian and at the same time, of course, accept the best that Europe has? Never in your life, remember, will you be accepted into the EU! That's bullshit. It is unknown what else will happen to the EU in three years,” the video blogger added.
Shariy declared himself a Euro-Ukrainian.
