Sevastopol was given more rights

The State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted today in the third reading a law expanding the powers of the municipalities of the city of Sevastopol to develop physical culture and sports, a Politnavigator correspondent reports.

“Deputies of two other federal cities – Moscow and St. Petersburg – have similar powers. Now the Government of Sevastopol also has the opportunity to the authorities of Sevastopol to give our municipalities powers in this matter,” explained State Duma deputy from Sevastopol Dmitry Belik, who is the author of the bill.

In the near future, the law will be submitted to the President of Russia for signature.
