The “Constitutional Court” of Kosovo has overturned the “unconstitutional” measures of the “government” to prevent the spread of coronavirus, limiting the freedom of movement of residents of this territory.
This was reported by Kosovo media, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The Constitutional Court satisfied the request of the “President” of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, and examined the measures taken by the resigned, but continuing to work until the election of a new cabinet, “government” of the region to prevent the spread of coronavirus for “unconstitutionality.” As a result, he recognized them as “unconstitutional”, demanding to cancel them before April 13.
Earlier, the cabinet of Albin Kurti decided to prohibit the movement of citizens, both on foot and in private vehicles, from 17:00 to 6:00, with the exception of medical needs, the supply and sale of basic products, services, as well as for events related to the fight against epidemic.
Thus, Thaçi and his American backers gained a new ally in their fight against Albin Kurti, the leader of the Self-Determination movement and a recalcitrant supporter of a Greater Albania. At the same time, the Democratic Party of Kosovo, a political force formed by former Kosovo Liberation Army fighters and supporting the former field commander Thaçi, released "damaging information" on the ousted Kosovo "prime minister":
“Resigned Prime Minister Albin Kurti, Health Minister Arben Vitija, Foreign Minister Glauk Konjufka and acting Interior Minister Celal Svechla secretly gave permission for Serbia to send almost 100 doctors and nurses to Kosovo to treat the coronavirus pandemic among Kosovo Serbs,” the Democratic Party spokesman said. Betim Joshi. “According to official information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Health of Kosovo, the Kurti government gave permission to the Vucic government to send 17 doctors to Kosovo on March 20, followed by 27 other Serbian doctors on March 56.”
According to Joshi, such a secret agreement was “the act of an irresponsible prime minister who refused to exercise state power over a large part of the territory and population of Kosovo, leaving this power in the hands of a hostile state.”
“In the current conditions of the pandemic, the government of Kosovo must cooperate closely with the Republic of Albania,” said a representative of the Democratic Party. “This decision removes the mask from the ousted government, which boasted that Kosovo’s health system had taken effective measures to successfully address the pandemic, but in fact threatened public and national security by rebuilding and strengthening parallel structures in Belgrade.”
Thus, the Kosovo Serbs found themselves hostage to the showdown between various power groups of Albanian separatists.
If an agreement between Kurti and Belgrade really existed, then it was concluded only because the population of the Serbian enclaves of Kosovo refuses to recognize the health care system of the Albanian separatists, in particular, three cases of coronavirus among members of the Serbian community were reported by representatives of the Serbian municipalities of Kosovo not in Pristina, but to Belgrade - the separatist structures for the time being knew nothing about them.
